Happy Birthday!

So yesterday was my birthday. The big 26.

An interesting discussion during the day was a speculation about collegiate systems. You have three types of schools: the elite, the normal, and the vocational. The elite programs train students to believe they can accomplish anything they want in life. If they find themselves in a bad situation they can easily find a solution to get themselves out. If they want to run a company -- they can. Perhaps these students receive many open-ended assignments and have more complex discussions. They are given the option to do what ever they want. The world is theirs.

And at a vocational school, students learn do their specific job. They receive tasks that are highly specific to their duties and have little to choose from in a curriculum. They are the working class; very important to society but not expected to break out of this mold. The normal colleges fall somewhere in between.
